Information we collect and how we use it
We collect personal information that you provide directly to us, including your name, business name, billing and delivery addresses, email address, telephone number, account credentials, customer instructions, shipment information, quote requests, communications and support requests.
When a customer places an order, we may collect information about the sender, recipient and other delivery contacts. The customer is responsible for having lawful authority to provide this information. Users should not include personal health information or other sensitive information in shipment descriptions or delivery instructions unless it is necessary, lawful and authorized.
We collect order and delivery information such as pickup and delivery locations, package count, service level, timestamps, assigned driver, delivery status, signatures, barcode scans, proof-of-delivery photographs, recipient names, dispatch notes, incidents, returns and customer-service records.
For drivers, we may collect licence, vehicle, insurance and eligibility information required for delivery operations. When driver mode or an active delivery function is enabled, the app may collect precise or background location, route, time, device, availability and delivery-status information. We use this information to assign and manage deliveries, provide estimated arrival information, verify pickup and delivery activity, support driver and shipment safety, investigate incidents, prevent fraud and resolve customer concerns.
We may automatically collect technical information such as IP address, device type, operating system, app version, browser type, language, login activity, diagnostic information and security events. Our website and apps may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies for authentication, preferences, security, performance and analytics.
Payment information may be processed by approved payment-service providers. We may receive limited transaction information such as payment status, card type, billing name and partial card details. Payment providers process payment information under their own privacy and security practices.
We use personal information to create and maintain accounts, provide quotations, accept and complete deliveries, dispatch drivers, process payments, issue invoices and statements, communicate service updates, provide customer support, investigate claims and incidents, maintain security, prevent fraud, improve our Services, comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
Operational messages concerning an account, order, delivery, payment, security or policy update are service communications. Promotional electronic messages will be sent only as permitted by law, and recipients may unsubscribe using the method provided in the message.
Sharing, service providers and retention
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We may share information with customers, recipients, assigned drivers, dispatchers and administrators only to the extent reasonably necessary to arrange, perform, verify or support a delivery. For example, a driver may receive the contact name, telephone number, address and delivery instructions needed to complete an assigned order. Customers may receive delivery status and proof-of-delivery information.
We may provide personal information to service providers that support payment processing, cloud hosting, data storage, mapping and navigation, communications, analytics, fraud prevention, information technology, customer support, accounting, insurance and professional advisory services. These providers may use the information only for authorized purposes and are expected to protect it appropriately.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a court order or lawful government request, protect a person’s safety, investigate fraud or unlawful activity, enforce our agreements, establish or defend a legal claim, or manage an actual or proposed financing, reorganization, merger, sale or transfer of all or part of the business.
Some service providers may process or store information outside Ontario or Canada. When information is processed in another jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of that jurisdiction. We use contractual, organizational and technical measures appropriate to the information and service involved.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purposes described in this policy, including providing Services, maintaining business and delivery records, resolving claims, processing payments, meeting tax, insurance and legal obligations, protecting against fraud and enforcing agreements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and applicable requirements. Information that is no longer required is securely deleted, destroyed or anonymized, subject to backup and legal-retention processes.
